About us
A brief about what we do!
The Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) (www.informs.org) is an international society for practitioners in the fields of operations research (O.R.), management science, and analytics.
We at INFORMS UT Dallas, a student chapter, promote greater public awareness, interest, and understanding about the benefits of operations research (O.R.) and analytics and provide a variety of events that support lifelong learning and networking for O.R. and analytics professionals through various workshops, networking sessions, training sessions and panel discussions.
Since its inception in 2011 under the Supply Chain Management program at Naveen Jindal School of Management, INFORMS has evolved over the years with its vision to be the single focal point of overall development and growth of student community with interests in areas of operations management, management science and analytics. INFORMS is connecting the dots to build a networked society of students, researchers, industry professionals, faculties and companies. INFORMS was awarded the Best Student Organization in 2016 (OWLIE awards) at the Naveen Jindal School of Management. It is a testament to the ongoing year-round activities which are tailor made to suit the current and future needs of students and industries. INFORMS helps you to stay updated with the latest trends and industry best practices, fine tune your technical and professional skills, and test yourself through flagship case competitions. Above all, you get boundless networking opportunities and make yourself market-ready! Our partner companies have found INFORMS to be a great branding platform and identify talents aligned to their specific needs. Innovation, Leadership, Motivational Mentoring and Persistence have driven INFORMS to be the best and will continue to do so. Come, be a part of INFORMS and stay INFORMED.
